Glen Keane - Step Into the Page - Future of Storytelling Summit - NYC - Oct 7-8 2015

Legendary Disney animator Glen Keane will be appearing at the Future of Storytelling (FoST) Summit on October 7-8 2015 in New York City.

This five-minute video was created for the event, an invitation-only summit which gathers leaders in communications, media, entertainment, and advertising to explore the evolution of storytelling from all angles: creative, technology, critical, formal and financial.

Glen is a featured speaker at the summit and is sharing his views on the potential of animation and storytelling with respect to virtual reality technology.

Instead of a paper and pencil, Keane draws life-sized versions of Ariel and Beast in the short with an HTC Vive headset and the 3D painting app called Tilt Brush which is now owned by Google. Rather than just being static on a page, he's able to walk around his characters as if they were fully three-dimensional. Take a look at this amazing technology and what the future holds for animation...

"Super Turbo Atomic Ninja Rabbit" - Wesley Louis - The Line

When he was 13 Wesley Louis drew 'Super Turbo Atomic Ninja Rabbit' as a comic. Years later he realized a dream of his childhood by animating the intro to the best TV-series that never was. 'Super Turbo Atomic Ninja Rabbit' is a homage to Saturday morning cartoons from the 80’s and 90’s.

Produced in association with The Line, a London based collective of outstanding designers, directors and animators, the opening outdoes many of the show openings we've seen from established studios.

You can find out more info and see a making of video at this link. Also you can support this independent project by purchasing the 108 page digital art book of 'Super Turbo Atomic Ninja Rabbit - Groundworks' available here.
