As fate would have it I met someone the other day in Burbank who was in town from Australia. Turns out the casual ecounter was something special as the fellow I was talking with is the father of a very talented animator by the name of Eddie White.
Here's a film by Eddie White entitled "The Cat Piano". A highly acclaimed work from 2009 which he co-directed, wrote and designed. Eddie is a co-founder of The People's Republic of Animation which is a subsidiary of Halfbrick Studios. Their leading property is a very successful video game franchise entitled Fruit Ninjas. One of the things that has really turned me off to the Disney Company's business practices as of late is their well known abuse of the H-1B Visa Program in complete disregard for the laws of the United States.
Although many international workers are benefiting from this, it's proving to be a tremendous disruption to the lives of their American employees causing severe economic and emotional hardships.
