Glen Keane draws upon the character of Rapunzel

The best character designers and animators who design characters are mindful of something very important. That is, the character of the character they're creating. Take a look at animation legend Glen Keane of Disney Studios as he sketches Rapunzel from "Tangled". He not only draws the character, he's aware of her personality as well. To see more of Glen Keane in action, follow this link to the AN's Education Forum for additional video.

Dragões de Éter (Gigantes)

This video was posted on AN's Gallery earlier today by our member giljun, under the title of "Duel Giants". I don't know much about besides what was posted on the topic. "Done with Flash, After Effects and Blender Produced for the book's 2011 Biennial in Rio de Janeiro, as disclosed in the book Dragons of the Ether". The description on YouTube is in Portuguese, "Animação feita pela nossa empresa Duque de Cartoon. sobre a melhor passagem, para mim, do Livro Dragões de Éter círculos de chuva". It's gotten 5,234 views since September 10 when it was uploaded, as of this writing. Not bad for a few days. I like the video and am posting it here for our homepage followers to watch and enjoy.

Rescuing Bambi - a real life drama

Even though it has nothing much to do with animation, I thought I'd share this none the less. It'll make people feel better about life.

A little baby deer is trapped among the rocks while its mother frantically circles the area. The boulders are too big to move without the possibility of hurting the deer, so Firefighters come to the rescue with the Jaws of Life. Here's what happens...

Wildstar - Game Design catching up to Feature Films

At least that's how I see it. In some cases it even surpasses what's happening in mainstream animation. Take for example this trailer for the upcoming video game 'Wildstar' from Carbine Studios. It's an incredible and very impressive project judging from the clip. From concept design to production design to animation to cinematography, It's very obvious just how far things have progressed in the gaming sector of the art. I'm building the topic on the Forums with more examples of excellence in video game visuals. Meanwhile check out Wildstar...

New 'Puss In Boots' teaser from DreamWorks

Yet another entertaining video from DreamWorks Studios featuring Puss In Boots, the most interesting cat in the world, to add to the collection of videos and other paraphernalia accumulated in this topic on the Forums, namely a photo I took of the Puss In Boots display in the DreamWorks lobby last April.

Puss In Boots opens November 4, 2011. Stay furry my friends.
